If you’re a skincare junkie, you’ve likely heard of, seen, or even tried a mist containing Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl). It’s the buzzworthy ingredient making waves on social media and in your favorite lifestyle magazines. HOCl has earned its popularity for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. It’s especially beneficial for addressing bacterial and inflammatory skin concerns like psoriasis, acne, scarring, and various forms of dermatitis.

A few months ago, I received a PR package from Teresa, the owner of PurClarity. Inside, she included information about the science behind her product, a detailed ingredient list, and a sample of the Revitalizing Mist. As always, I tested it myself before introducing it to our wellness lounge.

What is HOCl?

Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) is naturally produced by the body. When formulated correctly and maintained at the right pH level, it can effectively manage inflammatory skin concerns.

What does it treat?

If you’ve visited my treatment room, you know that many of the skin concerns I address are rooted in inflammation—scarring, pigmentation, acne, breakouts, psoriasis, redness, and more. This Revitalizing Mist will manage all of these skin concerns.

How is it made & Why do you need it?

“To make HOCl, we start with three ingredients: salt, water, and oxygen. An electrical current is applied to the solution, causing the molecules to break apart and reform into Hypochlorous Acid.” – PurClarity

Formulated in the USA and FDA-cleared, PurClarity’s Revitalizing Mist stands out for its efficacy, formulation, and sleek packaging. It’s a great addition to your skincare shelf, gym bag, or skin routine.

When should I use it?

Use the Revitalizing Mist morning and night on clean skin before applying the rest of your skincare routine. For those with an active lifestyle, toss it in your gym bag and mist your skin after washing your face post-workout. If you’re short on time, simply spritz it, apply SPF, and you’re good to go. Note: This mist is not a substitute for a cleanser—you should still cleanse your skin as usual.

What’s the price?

The Revitalizing Mist, with its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial benefits, is available at Skin by Cynthia for just $29.
